VIDEO: Wild seas batter Inishbofin pier

Further evidence, if any were needed, that the west coast of Ireland took a right battering in the early hours of Friday morning.

The below video of the sea furiously hammering the pier at Inishbofin island, off the Connemara coast, was sent to us by Marie Coyne. Marie braved the elements to film it just before 6am on Friday morning at the height of the storm, and when the tide was highest.

According to her, the cars seen on the pier in the clip ended up in the sea!

Marie also sent us this 'before and after' shot of Inishbofin lighthouse - look closely and you'll see an entire building missing, presumed blown away!
