A fan of British TV series 'Taggart' has got a huge tattoo of the show's main star on his back.

John Cuthbert – who has 60 per cent of his body covered in tattoos – got the big inking of Mark McManus, who portrays Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart in the programme, and he plans to add the face of James MacPherson, who plays Detective Michael Jardine, at a later date.

He said: "'Taggart' is something that every Scotsman knows and it's pretty much unique to our country.

"It's got the Glasgow skyline alongside McManus's face - who for me is just amazing.

"But James MacPherson is also good and will be added later along with other iconic references to Glasgow."

The 34-year-old man is now celebrating after winning an award for the Best Scottish-themed tattoo at the Scottish Tattoo Convention.
