Grateful Dead guitars fetch €1.9m

Two guitars belonging to Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia were sold at auction for around €1.9m.

Two guitars belonging to Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia were sold at auction for around €1.9m.

The custom-made guitars, Tiger and Wolf, were among the few instruments Garcia used during his career.

The auction was held at Studio 54 in New York and featured an assortment of items from the band and from Garcia, who died in 1995.

Other items in the auction included Garcia's paintings, his motorcycle, rare posters and photographs.
