Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will today urge a strong “yes” vote when he delivers a speech on the EU Reform Treaty at the National Forum On Europe.

Mr Ahern will also debate the issue with political groups and community organisations at the event at Dublin Castle.

The Forum is holding a series of public meetings around the country featuring speakers both for and against the Treaty.

The Government is to send out 2.5 million information booklets on the Treaty in coming weeks.

A referendum is expected to be held in May.

Opposition parties have called on the Government to name a date immediately so campaigning can begin.

A recent opinion poll found that 64% of voters had yet to make up their minds on how they will vote.
