Wexford former All Star full-back Darragh Ryan may be forced out of the game due to injury.

Wexford former All Star full-back Darragh Ryan may be forced out of the game due to injury.

The St Anne's clubman has undergone two cruciate knee ligament operations and is awaiting test results on a knee injury picked up during Leinster's Railway Cup semi-final tie with Munster.

New Wexford boss Seamus Murphy said the defender's future in the game looks bleak. He said: "Darragh is in a lot of pain at present with the knee very badly swollen. The prognosis is not very encouraging. He is awaiting further tests but the knee could need further surgery.

Murphy added: "Hopefully his career is not over but it does not look good."
