A retailer is launching what it describes as Britain’s first “100% charity” Christmas cards.
The entire £6.50 retail price for the packs of 10 cards will be donated to the 'Make A Wish' Foundation.
In addition Selfridges will donate the equivalent of 17.5% of the sale price to the charity to make up for money paid out in VAT.
Charities can get as little as 10% of the retail price of some charity Christmas cards.
Selfridges’ head of home Kit Li Perry said: “We want to do something really special to support Make A Wish so we hope this 100% charity card will be a huge success and help the charity to give even more of their magical help to the kids who really need it this Christmas.”
Card publisher Almanac will make no money from the charity cards which show a panda rolling in snow.
The panda card sets launch tomorrow at Selfridges branches in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
The Make A Wish Foundation supports children and young people with life-threatening illnesses.
