Manchester City right-back Micah Richards has signed a new four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, it was announced today.

The 23-year-old has been rewarded for a consistent level of performance over the past year under manager Roberto Mancini.

Richards, who helped City end a 35-year trophy drought with FA Cup success last season, has become a regular in Mancini's side and is firmly back in the England frame.

The Academy graduate had been in discussions about his future and has now committed to a new long-term deal.
