EU environment award for Leitrim hotel
A Co Leitrim hotel has been awarded for its eco-friendly efforts..
The Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon, has been awarded the EU Ecolabel Communication Award by the European Commission in recognition of its exceptional promotional activities to increase public awareness of the EU Ecolabel – the EU's label for environmentally-friendly goods and services.
The award follows on from the Bush Hotel becoming the first hotel in Ireland to be awarded the EU Ecolabel in March of this year.
“Environmental management using the Ecolabel makes absolute sense at the Bush Hotel," said managing director John Dolan.
"Not only have we achieved significant cost reductions but we have differentiated ourselves as a business with exceptionally good environmental performance giving us a competitive advantage.
"As a result we have attracted significant interest from the public which has resulted in additional business.”
