Soccer: Keane named player of the year

Republic of Ireland captain Roy Keane was named the FAI/eircom senior player of the year at the 2001 awards ceremony in Dublin last night.

Blackburn's Damien Duff was named young player of the year and Bohemians Glenn Crowe named eircom player of the year.

Roy Keane flew over from London to accept his award.
