Matthew Perry to play a lawyer in Ally McBeal
Matthew Perry is to guest star in two episodes of Ally McBeal.
The Friends star will play a "cocky, successful and opinionated attorney".
Christina Ricci is making a guest appearance in the show at the same time.
The shows will be aired in the United States in April.
Executive producer Alice West said: "Matthew Perry displays a strong presence and natural comedic ability on his other TV project, which makes him a natural choice for Ally McBeal."
Perry, who plays Chandler Bing, has rarely appeared on other TV shows since Friends started in 1994.
Other stars who have appeared on Ally McBeal this series are Jon Bon Jovi, Tom Berenger, Elton John and Mariah Carey.
Barry Humphries' Dame Edna Everage has also guested, and proved so popular it became a regular role.
