Jair Du Cochet, a major flop at Kempton on St Stephen's Day, put the record straight with a resounding success in the Pillar Property Chase at Cheltenham today.

Jair Du Cochet, a major flop at Kempton on St Stephen's Day, put the record straight with a resounding success in the Pillar Property Chase at Cheltenham today.

Guillaume Macaire’s French challenger had been sent off the favourite for the Pertemps King George VI Chase but was never travelling and was eventually pulled up.

But he returned to his best when running away from Ruby Walsh on Irish runner Rince Ri in today’s Grade Two event.

Rince Ri was the only other finisher in the six-runner field.
