Guy gives 'always smiling' cashier $500 - for being her lovely self
Debi sounds like the loveliest person - and Daniel Fernandez thought she deserved a great surpise to celebrate that.
He says Debi always seems to be working at his local shop, whether he's there at 2am or 6pm, and seemed to be "struggling at little bit".
She always aks people how they're doing in a very genuine way, and has time for everyone.
So, he puts $500 inside a card that reads 'Sometimes I wonder how you got to be so great' and pretends first that he's giving it to his girlfriend and just wants Debi to read over the card.
But, as she reads, Daniel lets Debi in on the real deal.
"You deserve this 'cos you are awesome," he says as it dawns on Debi that the cash and card are actually for her.
After effusive thanks, she says she'll buy a car with the windfall.
