Cobh Ramblers’ Dave Warren has won the eircom/Soccer Writers' Association of Ireland Player of the Month award for October.
The former Wrexham and Cork City midfielder-turned-striker was honoured for his goalscoring feats last month when he became only the third First Division player to score six goals in one League match in the last 50 years.
Warren, 23, scored nine goals in four matches, including six in Ramblers’ 8-1 triumph over Monaghan United, which put him on a par with Jonathan Speak of Derry City and Finn Harps’ Brendan Bradley.
The Corkman left Turner's Cross last season after a year with Cork City, initially on a loan move to Ramblers before making the move permanent in March.
