Gardaí arrest three after seizing 'significant quantity' of drugs in Dublin

The three people arrested following a drug seizure in Dublin today have been charged and will appear in court tomorrow at 10.30am.

Update at 2.30pm

Gardaí say they have seized €1.6m of heroin, cocaine and cannabis herb in Dublin.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Conyingham Road, Islandbridge, and seized a "significant quantity" of heroin and cocaine.

They arrested a 45-year-old man at the scene.

They then carried out a follow-up search at a house in Ballyfermot and discovered "further significant quantities" of heroin, cocaine and cannabis herb.

They also arrested a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman at the house.

All three are being held, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act, 1996 at Lucan and Finglas Garda stations.
