A Fianna Fáil councillor in Co Louth is calling on the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to resign.

A Fianna Fáil councillor in Co Louth is calling on the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to resign.

Tommy Murphy said today that the latest revelations at the Mahon Tribunal have put Mr Ahern's credibility in doubt.

Yesterday's evidence by the Taoiseach's former aide that she made a number of sterling lodgements to his and his daughter's accounts, contradicts Mr Ahern's earlier statements.

Tommy Murphy has said that the people on the street no longer believe the Taoiseach.
