A Dublin man will be sentenced in April at the Circuit Criminal Court for stabbing a man he found in bed with his ex-girlfriend.

Leslie O'Brien (aged 27) of Lorcan O’Toole Park in Crumlin pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to Dylan Fallon in an apartment complex on James’s Street on July 19, 2009.

The court heard O’Brien had a continuing “on again, off again” relationship with the woman and that they have a seven-month-old child together.

He apologised for what happened and said that he committed the offence because of a mixture of drugs, alcohol and jealousy.

The court also heard that O'Brien was currently trying to address his substance problems and was attending an anger management course.
