New racism study revealed today

A new survey published has found that 94% of students believe new races, cultures and religions are good for Irish society.

A new survey published has found that 94% of students believe new races, cultures and religions are good for Irish society.

The figures, released by the Union of Students in Ireland found 40% of students believed that people from minority ethnic groups abuse the social welfare system. While 23% believe such groups are more often involved in criminality.

USI equality officer Rory McDaid, says the lack of education about other nationalities has caused certain racist feelings.
