Michael Stoute faces a race against time to get top filly Islington ready for her intended return to the track at the Curragh on May 25.

The daughter of Sadler’s Wells has been pencilled in for the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup as she bids to follow up her successes in the Nassau Stakes at Yorkshire Oaks last season.

But the trainer told the Racing Post: “Her only entry at the moment is in the Tattersalls Gold Cup and it’s a question of whether she’s ready.

“We need to get her back on the track soon and she has an entry at Ascot after that.”
