Dublin City Council has released a statement disputing claims by the Tánaiste that plans for the controversial Poolbeg Incinerator in Dublin's Ringsend have collapsed.

Dublin City Council has released a statement disputing claims by the Tánaiste that plans for the controversial Poolbeg Incinerator in Dublin's Ringsend have collapsed.

Michael Mc Dowell, who's a local TD, issued a statement earlier today hailing the decision as a "victory for local democracy".

However, Dublin City Council said the project was "still on track" and that "discussions are continuing with the new owners of the Danish company involved".
