The highlight of the Formula One season, the Monaco Grand Prix, takes place today with the battle for the Drivers Championship taking centre stage.
David Coulthard snatched pole position for the race from the championship leader, Michael Schumacher, on his last qualifying lap of the session.
Schumacher, who leads Coulthard by just four points, is in second place with Mika Hakkinen and Rubens Barrichello in third and fourth places.
The Jordan pair had a disappointing qualifying session, Jarno Trulli starts in eighth and Heinz Harald Frentzen is in thirteenth.
Meanwhile Eddie Irvine in his Jaguar had his most successful qualifying session of the season, he starts in sixth place on the grid.
The race is scheduled to start at one o'clock.
