Boeing begins laying off staff
Boeing says 10,500 people are to lose their jobs on December 14.
The cuts are the first wave of 20,000 to 30,000 redundancies planned by the end of 2002.
Boeing says 3,200 machinists, 680 commercial aircraft engineers and thousands of others will go. More as we get it.
