Missing Mayo students located
The group of six students who went missing on the Meelwrea Mountain in Mayo yesterday have been located.
The group had been in touch with Mayo Mountain Rescue by mobile phone and said they were disorientated and didn’t want to make their way down the mountain without assistance.
They spent the night in foggy conditions on the mountainside.
Mayo Mountain Rescue Officer Shane McGuire said that the group were spotted as fog lifted this morning a few hundred metres from a roadway.
They are making their way off the mountain unaided.
