A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Dublin City centre this afternoon which left one man seriously injured.

A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Dublin City centre this afternoon which left one man seriously injured.

The incident happened when a row broke out in a bar on Bachelor's Walk near O'Connell Street at around 12:30pm.

During the row one man was stabbed a number of times in the leg and back and he was rushed to the Mater Hospital.

Gardai arrested a man close to the scene and he is being detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
