Titanic survivor dies
One of the last remaining survivors of the Titanic has died in France, aged 92.
Michel Navratil was the last known male survivor of the tragedy, according to the Titanic Historical Society. He was just three when the "unsinkable" ship hit an iceberg and sank on its maiden transatlantic voyage on April 14, 1912.
"There are only four women left now," said Edward Kamuda, the society's founder.
Mr Navratil's father, who was separated from his wife, decided to take his two sons, Michel and two-year-old Edmond, to New York without her permission. They used an assumed name, Hoffman, to buy the tickets.
Mr Navratil had described what happened when the ship began to sink: "My father entered our cabin where we were sleeping. He dressed me very warmly and took me in his arms. A stranger did the same for my brother. When I think of it now, I am very moved. They knew they were going to die."
