A ballot of Aer Lingus cabin crew gets underway later today to decide if they should accept a new pay deal.

A ballot of Aer Lingus cabin crew gets underway later today to decide if they should accept a new pay deal.

Cabin crew at Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Heathrow airports will be balloted, with management calling on staff to accept the pay award.

However, unions are recommending rejection of the deal and say more strike action is likely to go ahead next month.

IMPACT - which represents 1,400 Aer Lingus cabin crew - say there have been some improvements in the new deal, particularly for new staff, but claim that the top rate of £25,000 for long-serving workers is far too low.
