Noel Gallagher says his brother Liam will be Britain's best songwriter in five years time.
He claims the songs written by Liam for the next Oasis LP are "astonishing."
Noel also confirmed he'd written a song for his girlfriend Sara McDonald called She's Love.
He talked about his brother's contribution to the new album before tonight's benefit show for the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall.
He said: "You'll be amazed and anybody that hears them will gasp. They're that good. Two of them are astonishing and one's really, really good.
"In five years time without a doubt he'll be the best songwriter in the country."
The forthcoming Oasis LP, reportedly called Heathen Chemistry, is scheduled for a summer release.
Noel admits he's caught up in the Pop Idol fever which has gripped the nation.
He is tipping Gareth Gates to beat William Young on Saturday's final show.
He said: "I think the guy with the stammer will win it for the fact that he's got a stammer."
