Jackson trial delayed in dispute over witness

Michael Jackson’s child molestation trial was briefly delayed today by a dispute over evidence from a public relations specialist appearing for the prosecution.

Michael Jackson’s child molestation trial was briefly delayed today by a dispute over evidence from a public relations specialist appearing for the prosecution.

Ann Gabriel Kite told the jury at the end of yesterday’s hearing in Santa Maria, California, that she was brought in by a former Jackson lawyer to do public relations after Martin Bashir’s controversial documentary on the star was aired.

Judge Rodney Melville met defence and prosecution lawyers for about half an hour today before explaining to jurors that the question of whether a lawyer hired Kite to work for Jackson should be interpreted to reflect “only what she thought she was doing” and not whether she actually was hired to work for Jackson.
