Private equity firm Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst has reportedly appointed advisers to help it consider strategic options for Burton’s Foods, which employs 3,000 people and has four bakeries around the UK.

Today’s report in the Daily Telegraph suggested the company could be worth up to £300m (€443.5m).
