“Bieber Fever” took hold of London’s O2 Arena tonight, as teen star Justin Bieber attended the premiere of his first film.

Hundreds of girls, one of whom had travelled from as far as Peru, filled the entrance hall of the venue to catch a glimpse of the 17-year-old star who stars in 3D biopic 'Justin Bieber: Never Say Never'.

Bieber, fresh from his success at last night’s Brit Awards, where he picked up the gong for international breakthrough act, turned up wearing a black waistcoat and bow tie with jeans, and sporting his now-famous hairstyle.

The 'Baby' singer was impressed with the turnout and said that he hoped people would be “motivated and inspired” by the film, which charts his rise from drum-playing toddler to international star.

He said: “All my fans have been amazing and supportive so I’m glad to be here.”

A handful of lucky fans were reduced to tears after being handed tickets to see the film.

Celebrity fans including Alesha Dixon and Craig David turned up for the premiere.

A fresh-faced Jessie J, who also picked up an award at the Brits, said she had been celebrating all night but wanted to turn up to support Bieber.

“I support anyone who works hard for their success,” she said.
