Dublin Lord Mayor Royston Brady is reportedly planning to contest the European Parliament elections later this year.
Reports this morning said Mr Brady was set to seek the Fianna Fáil nomination in the Dublin constituency.
He has reportedly promised to improve the quality of life of all Dubliners if he secures a seat.
Former Junior Minister Eoin Ryan has also announced his intention to stand for Fianna Fáil in the four-seat Dublin constituency.
