Fáilte Ireland reports record tourism numbers for 2007
A record number of tourists visited Ireland last year, according to the Fáilte Ireland's annual review for 2007.
The organisation says 7.8 million holidaymakers visited Ireland during the year, an increase of 5% on the figure for 2006.
Revenue from tourism increased to €6.5bn, including at least €1bn spent by Irish people taking holidays at home.
