Gladiator star Russell Crowe is today set to marry his long-term girlfriend Danielle Spencer.
The actor was saying “I do” at a chapel in the grounds of his 800-acre ranch in New South Wales, Australia.
The pair, who met on the set of the 1990 film The Crossing, have been trying to keep their wedding plans under wraps.
Crowe has said he wants a traditional wedding and top designer Giorgio Armani has made the bridal party outfits.
The couple began dating in 1991 but work commitments soon drove them apart.
In 2000, he had a high-profile relationship with actress Meg Ryan as her marriage to Dennis Quaid ended.
The Hollywood duo split up after a few months and Crowe began dating Spencer again.
On Sunday, he announced his desire to start a family with his bride-to-be.
He told Sydney’s Sun-Herald newspaper: “That’s one of the main reasons you enter into marriage.”
The New Zealand-born star, who turned 39 today, won an Oscar in 2001 for his role as Maximus in Gladiator.
