A misprint means 30,000 copies of the Children's Rights Referendum Bill in post offices around the country will have to be pulped.

Ireland will vote on article 42A of the constitution next month but the document wrongly mentions article 40 instead, which refers to the right to life of the unborn.

The Department of the Environment says new versions of the correct Bill are expected to be printed up at no cost to the taxpayer.
