Trendy Italian restaurant group Carluccio’s served up an appetising boost in sales today as diners visited a string of new outlets.
The company – floated by celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio in December – said turnover was up 24% in the 12 months to September 24 and also raised hopes of higher-than-expected pre-tax profits for the year.
The UK sites, which are open from 8am to midnight, offer customers the chance to eat and drink in the restaurant as well as shop for Italian food at its delicatessen counter.
Carluccio’s said it had achieved its target of opening five new outlets during the financial year and was on-track to match the figure in the next 12 months.
Branches at Westbourne Corner in west London, Oxford, Brighton, Chiswick and Richmond have opened recently, with a deal already agreed for a new eatery in Walton-on-Thames.
