Ballycotton Lifeboat in Co. Cork is marking its 150th anniversary today.
It is one of the country's oldest lifeboat stations and has saved hundreds of lives since being established in 1858.
Its most famous rescue involved a crew staying at sea for over 76 hours in 1936, to help those aboard a foundering ship.
A ceremony is being held on the pier in Ballycotton today to mark the event.
