The Labour Party is meeting today to discuss its strategy for the new Dáil.
The Labour parliamentary party will also discuss its failure to increase its showing in the recent general election and how to build the party for the future.
The meeting comes amid speculation of a challenge to Ruairi Quinn’s leadership, but party spokesman Pat Rabbitte dismissed such suggestions. "As far as I’m concerned, Ruairi Quinn’s position is safe," he said.
"I haven’t heard any colleagues say otherwise. The review in the Labour Party is really about policy, organisation, strategy and building the party in areas where we didn’t do that well on this occasion."
