Cork City 3 Galway United 2
Dave Mooney scored twice and for the fifth time in six games as Cork staged a remarkable comeback tonight to make it five wins on the spin.
In-form Cork dominated from the start, only to be stunned by Galway taking the lead on 36 minutes.
Gary Deegan worked the ball to Derek Glynn who showed good skill to shoot home from a tight angle over the arms of Mick Devine.
Glynn then struck again within seconds of the start of the second half. Collecting John Lester's pass, the striker cut in from the left and beat a defender to delightfully chip Devine for a superb finish.
Mooney got Cork back into the game on 56 minutes with a superb solo goal.
Denis Behan then levelled on 62 minutes following good work by Liam Kearney.
The house then fell in for bottom side Galway on 81 minutes when keeper Alvin Rouse was sent off for pulling down John O'Flynn and Mooney shot the penalty past reserve 'keeper Gary Rogers - his 11th goal in seven games.
