The PSNI's Historical Enquiries Team has charged a second man in connection with the murder of a leading loyalist paramilitary more than eight years ago.

The 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Tommy English in October 2000 during a violent feud between the UDA and the UVF.

He is due before a court in Belfast this morning, but the PSNI has not disclosed what charge he will face.

Last week, former leading loyalist Mark Haddock was charged with Mr English's murder after being arrested at Maghaberry Prison, where he is nearing the end of a 10-year sentence for an attack on a nightclub doorman.
