In the North an 18-month-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car in Belfast.

The accident happened shortly after 4pm yesterday afternoon in Dundonald.

The toddler was initially taken to Ulster Hospital but has since been transferred to the intensive care unit at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.

The PSNI are investigating.
