Konnie Huq thinks it’s time a group won ‘The X Factor’.
The TV presenter – who hosts the talent show’s spin-off programme ‘The Xtra Factor’ – is keen for a band to emerge victorious this year as it would be a welcome change.
Speaking at the launch of Pixie Lott’s new autumn/winter fashion collection for Lipsy at exclusive London restaurant Gilgamesh, Konnie said: “I’m rooting for a group this year, as it’s about time one won. G4 and JLS have come close before, so now could be the time.”
G4 were runners-up in the first series, while JLS – who have gone on to have huge success – finished second behind Alexandra Burke in 2008.
Konnie also says she feels sorry for Louis Walsh because he’s been given the toughest category – the Over 28s – and believes Cheryl Cole stands the biggest chance of winning because she has the Girls.
She said: “Poor Louis, he does always seem to pull the short straw when it comes to who he gets. But I’m sure if anyone can do it, Louis can. I think Cheryl has the strongest chance of winning with the girls, as there’s definitely a lot of talent there.”
Simon Cowell is on charge of the Groups while Dannii Minogue has been given the Boys.
