Limerick hurling selector Mossie Carroll has been named as the county’s new hurling manager following Eamonn Cregan’s resignation yesterday.

Cregan stepped down because of a long-running row about the use of his hurlers on Limerick’s football team.

Carroll, who played for Limerick for more than 10 years, was named as his replacement following seven hours of deliberations at the Limerick County Board last night.
