FG slams Government's health service plans

As the Government prepares to discuss the state of the health service at an all-day cabinet meeting in county Louth tomorrow, Fine Gael has slammed the move as an exercise in cynicism and panic.

As the Government prepares to discuss the state of the health service at an all-day cabinet meeting in county Louth tomorrow, Fine Gael has slammed the move as an exercise in cynicism and panic.

Party spokesman Gay Mitchell claims the health system is now paralyzed by analysis with over 50 different review groups in operation.

He claims that Fine Gael is prepared to spend £990m to totally reform the health service.
