Mayo midfielder David Brady has revealed that playing alongside his brothers in the county team was high on the list of his reasons for returning to the inter-county fold.
The 31-year-old Brady, who retired last March after reportedly failing out with then Mayo manager John Maughan.
“It was a big factor in coming back, I have to say,” said Ballina clubman Brady.
“Personally it would be my wish someday to play inter-county championship with the three of us on the team.
“It is nice to have the lads around and it means a lot to me.”
Brady returned to the fray last Saturday, ironically against a Maughan-led Roscommon in Ballinlough.
Mayo claimed a 2-12 to 1-08 win to progress to a Connacht FBD League decider against Galway, and Brady still offered a commanding presence in midfield.
The three Brady brothers all earned game-time against Roscommon - David's younger twin brothers Ger, who scored an early goal, and Liam, who was brought on for the second half, both had an influence in the forward line after their elder brother had retired through injury.
New Mayo boss Mickey Moran was also a big factor in Brady's comeback.
“Anyone that I have ever spoken to about Mickey Moran has said that he is an unbelievable manager, coach and tactician, and that is something that I wanted to experience,” said Brady.
“Something new is a breath of fresh air to all of us and a change is as good as a break.”
