The Minister for the Environment has been condemned over allegations that he sought and accepted a donation on behalf of Fianna Fail from a company involved in a bid to build an incinerator in Co Meath.

The Minister for the Environment has been condemned over allegations that he sought and accepted a donation on behalf of Fianna Fail from a company involved in a bid to build an incinerator in Co Meath.

The Green Party claims that Noel Dempsey asked the Irish wing of a Belgian incineration company for money, even though it had applied for planning permission for Ireland's first commercial incinerator at Duleek.

Green Party TD John Gormley said there was a clear conflict of interest which put Minister Dempsey's position in doubt.
