One man’s emphatic rejection of what he called the “ponce and wonce [sic]” of the St Patrick’s Day parade has gone viral since it was posted on March 16.
In the video, posted by the Midday show on TV3, the man is asked if he will be attending a St Patrick’s Day parade; his reaction is an unambiguous: “No.”
“I’ll stay in the back garden with me dog,” the man says. “It’s the greatest load of ponce and wonce.”
He goes on to mimic Americans attending the parade, who say, according to him, “‘Oh my god, I love Ireland!’”
There follows an extended bleep as the man says of these Americans, “They do in my -.” To sum up, the man says, “I hate it.”
The video was shared over 3,100 times in the 16 hours after it was published.
