Prolific juvenile winner Zebedee has been retired to stud in Ireland, it emerged today.
The Invincible Spirit colt has been beaten just once in seven starts for trainer Richard Hannon this season and has earned more than £160,000 (€186,731) in prize money.
His wins include Goodwood's Molecomb Stakes and the Flying Childers at Doncaster with his only defeat coming when fifth in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot.
Hannon said: "Zebedee proved an absolute star for us and it was a pleasure to have him in the yard.
"He gave us some great days, winning the Flying Childers Stakes and the Molecomb, besides mopping up one of the big sales races at Newmarket, and at 70,000 guineas he was one of the biggest bargains.
"You never like losing one of your best horses, but Zebedee was only small and a sprinter through-and-through, so it would have been tough for him next season against the older speed merchants and I can quite understand (owner) Julie (Wood) accepting an offer for him to stand at stud in Ireland," he told www.richardhannonracing.tv.
