A single first-half goal saw Club Brugge pull off a sensational upset at the San Siro as they inflicted a rare defeat on defending European champions AC Milan.

A 33rd-minute effort from Andres Mendoza proved the difference between the teams as the Belgian side kick-started their campaign against the Milan team that lifted the continent‘s top club prize last May.

The goal, on the counter-attack, was reward for a classic away performance by the side from Bruges who defended in numbers but looked dangerous on their rare forays forward.
