The seasonally-adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries for the three-month period of June to August 2006 was up 1.5% on the preceding three-month period, according to the Central Statistics Office.
On an annual basis production for all industries in August 2006 was 5.6% higher than in August 2005. The “modern” sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an annual increase in production for August 2006 of 7.7%, while an increase of 1% was recorded in the “traditional” sector.
The seasonally-adjusted industrial turnover for manufacturing industries was 3% higher in the three-month period of June to August 2006 when compared with the preceding three-month period. On an annual basis, turnover in August 2006 was 8% higher than in August 2005.
