The Government has announced the appointment of a consortium to conduct an independent study for the use of timber-frame housing in Irish conditions.

The Government has announced the appointment of a consortium to conduct an independent study for the use of timber-frame housing in Irish conditions.

Junior Minister Bobby Molloy said there is a need to establish the role of timber frame housing in Ireland in an effort to supplement traditional methods.

The study will examine all aspects relating to the use of timber-frame housing in the private sector, local authorities and voluntary housing.
