Sinn Féin's three nominees are due to attend their first full meeting of the North's Policing Board later today.

The board is meeting to elect a chair and deputy chair and to decide which members will sit on its most powerful committees.

Alex Maskey, Martina Anderson and Daithi McKay are the first republicans to sit on the body following Sinn Féin's decision to endorse the police earlier this year.

Ms Anderson, who served a lengthy prison term for conspiracy to cause explosions, is the first board member convicted of serious paramilitary offences.
